Reward Offered In Arrest Of Suspect Connected To Shooting Death Of Philadelphia Woman
PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP) — Officials plan to offer a $25,000 award in the arrest of a second man wanted in the crossfire shooting of a young mother gunned down during a shootout on a Philadelphia street.
Police say 45-year-old Clarice Douglas was standing outside her home when she was caught in a gun battle Friday afternoon in the city's Grays Ferry neighborhood. She was pronounced dead about an hour after being hit by multiple shots (see related story).
Investigators say one man involved in the gunfight was wounded and is in custody after being taken to a hospital for treatment. Hakeem Burley currently faces firearms charges but authorities say the investigation is continuing.
Investigators are still seeking a second alleged shooter, 28-year-old Shekinah Williams, on Monday.
Shekinah Williams is described as a black male, 5'3", 125 lbs, black hair, brown eyes and is from the 2100 block of Sears Street. If you see this male do not approach him; you are asked to contact 911 immediately.
