Revel Hires TV Chef Jose Garces To Open 3 Atlantic City Casino Eateries
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) -- The mega-casino opening next spring in Atlantic City has hired an award-winning TV chef to open its first three restaurants.
Jose Garces, who won the 2010 season of "The Next Iron Chef," will open a tapas bar, a whiskey-inspired eatery, and a Mexican restaurant at Revel.
Garces owns 12 restaurants in Philadelphia, Chicago and Scottsdale, Ariz.
"Amada" will offer small-plate dishes to be shared among diners. "Village Whiskey" will offer drinks and bar food, and "Distrito Cantina" will offer Mexican food and a take-out window.
Revel is scheduled to open in mid-May. The resort will cost more than $2 billion and will be the first casino to open in Atlantic City since the Borgata debuted in 2003.
