DOYLESTOWN (CBS) -- Delaware Valley College in Doylestown is offering a helping hand to returning veterans looking for a new path.
Returning vets from Iraq and Afghanistan are encouraged to take part in a 3-semester course to learn about organic farming first hand.
Program Coordinator, Dennis Riling, who is also a vet, says it's a perfect fit, "they see where the future is going and kind of what we need to do to be able to meet the demand that we're going to have with the increasing population it's food security and food security is equivalent to national security we need to have a sustainable food system and see that and see the value in that."
He adds that under the GI bill and the Veterans Administration, the program is free, plus there's a monthly stipend to pay for housing, books and other expenses.
