Residents Of Evacuated Center City Condos Given Okay To Return Home

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Residents of a Center City condo building who were evacuated form their homes due to flooding Tuesday night could be sleeping in their own beds tonight. Well, most of them anyway.
More than 200 residents of the luxury condominium building near 13th and Broad were given the green light to return to their building, but some of them may be returning to an apartment that is unlivable.
The residents were evacuated from their building on Tuesday night when some pipes burst, flooding hallways and many of the units, and even after being given the okay to return home, many questions remain for the evacuated residents. One of them being, why there was no help from the government or city leaders.
"Where are our politicians throughout this whole thing? Not one single person has been here. I called and left messages, not a return call. Nobody," one person said.
Damage assessment crews will remain at the building through the weekend to offer help to residents who need it.
