Resident Discovers Alligator Behind Blackwood, New Jersey Apartment Complex
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) - The Department of Environmental Protection and Animal Control captured an alligator in Blackwood Sunday afternoon.
At about 1:45 p.m., Township Police responded to the Lakeview Apartments complex in the 500 block of Lower Landing Road for a two-foot-long alligator that was found underneath a bridge located behind one of the apartment buildings.
A resident discovered the alligator and contacted the authorities. Before police arrived, the resident was able to tape the alligator's mouth closed to prevent it from biting anyone.
Animal Control officers believe the alligator was possibly a pet and will be making arrangements to have it relocated.
Authorities didn't find any other alligators in the area.
