Researchers Say They've Figured Out Which Dance Moves Attract Women
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Single men heading to the bars this weekend might want to take note of this new study.
Researchers in Germany and the U.K. say they have pinpointed the types of dance moves that attract women.
The researchers asked 19 men to dance for 30 seconds. They then used motion-capture technology to generate computer videos of the dance moves and asked more than 30 women to rate them.
According to the study, several things were key predicators of dance ability: variability and amplitude of movements in the central body regions, and the speed of right knee movements.
Men identified as "good" dancers by women had larger and more variable movements of the head, neck and torso and faster movements of the right knee and leg.
And if you're wondering why the right knee was so important, the researchers postulate that's because 80% of people are right-footed.
