Researchers: Lack Of Sleep May Lead To Poor Food Choices, Similar To Effects Of Marijuana

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Researchers say they have found a link between lack of sleep and overeating.

Scientists in Chicago say lack of sleep intensifies cravings for sweet, salty and high-fat foods, similar to the effects of marijuana.

Researchers say sleep loss extends the effects of a chemical signal that enhances the joy of eating.

Sleep deprived patients ate nearly twice as much as those who got eight hours of rest.
