Eastbound Lanes Reopen After Truck Overturns On Schuylkill Expressway
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The eastbound lanes of the Schuylkill Expressway have reopened after a truck overturned near the University Avenue exit.
Chopper 3 over the scene Thursday afternoon showed major traffic delays in the area.
CBS 3 is told two people were taken to the hospital. There is no word on their conditions at this time.
All eastbound lanes were shut down and traffic was being redirected.
PennDOT says the truck, which was carrying trash, rolled over the divider in the eastbound lanes, and fuel from the vehicle spilled onto the roadway.
A heavy wrecker responded to the scene to right the truck and then remove it from the roadway, according to PennDOT.
The roadway has since reopened to traffic.
