School Lockdowns Lifted After Reported Home Invasion In Elsmere
ELSMERE, Del., (CBS) – Two schools in Wilmington, Delaware were placed on precautionary lockdown after a reported home invasion in the area.
Police responded at about 1:40 p.m. to the unit block of Bungalow Avenue in Elsmere.
Investigators say a woman and her 17-month-old child were home when two suspects entered the residence displaying a gun and knife.
Elsmere Police, New Castle County Police and Delaware State Police canvassed the area for two males.
As a precaution, Baltz Elementary School and All Saints Catholic School were placed on lockdown.
Investigators say a reverse 911 call to area residents assisted officers in apprehending a juvenile suspect in the area of the 1600 block of Montgomery Road.
The lockdown of the schools were lifted at about 3:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
No injuries were reported.
Police are not releasing any additional details at this time.
The incident remains under investigation.
