Report: Sleep Apnea Linked With Silent Strokes
By Dr. Brian McDonough
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Over the years we have learned that sleep apnea can lead to many health problems including high blood pressure. However, a new report from German researchers has an even greater concern.
Sleep apnea could be associated with an increased risk of silent stroke and small lesions in the brain. This is a report that was being released at the International Stroke Conference of the American Stroke Association.
It's important because what it suggests is if you are someone who has sleep apnea you can't take it lightly. You should do what you can to have it looked into and potentially correct it.
