Report Says Pope Francis Has Curable Brain Tumor; Vatican Denies Claims
VATICAN CITY (CBS) -- A report in an Italian newspaper says Pope Francis has a small, curable brain tumor.
The Vatican is denying the claims.
Citing unnamed sources, the paper says the 78-year-old pontiff has a dark spot on his brain that can be cured without surgery.
A Vatican spokesperson calls the claims "completely unfounded and seriously irresponsible and not worthy of attention."
The paper is standing by its reporting.
