Report: Red Sox Among Teams To Make Offer For Cole Hamels
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Ruben Amaro Jr. would not specify what teams made the Phillies offers for the services of Cole Hamels. The team has entertained the idea of trading away several of their cornerstone players and Hamels is the most valuable asset they have to deal.
According to a report from The Boston Globe, the Red Sox were one of the teams that made an offer for Hamels.
The report states that the Red Sox offer was "heavy on the major league side," and that the Red Sox were hesitant about parting with their top young prospects. The report also suggested that the package would not suffice the Phillies who are more interested in acquiring young talent that they can build on as opposed to established MLB players.
