Report Links Lifestyle Change To Reduced Alzheimer's Risk
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Can changing your lifestyle reduce your risk of developing Alzheimer's? A new report says it may be possible.
There are seven potentially modifiable risk factors. They include physical inactivity, depression, midlife obesity, low education, smoking, midlife high blood pressure, and diabetes.
According to the researchers, if people could reduce these risk factors by as much as 10 percent there could be a million fewer cases of Alzheimer's worldwide.
Those who criticize the study say that there is a problem. These are associations with Alzheimer's, not direct causes. However, if you really look at from a common sense perspective controlling all of those are at least some of them can only help in many areas not just Alzheimer's.
