Report: Lavoy Allen Will Re-Sign With Sixers For Two Years

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Lavoy Allen was only a restricted free-agent because the Sixers neglected to include a team option year in his rookie contract, a mistake that could have cost them more than it looks like it will.
A report from Slam Magazine's Tzvi Twersky suggests that Allen will sign a two year, $6 million contract with the Sixers. Allen can't officially sign the deal until July 11th, when NBA free-agents are allowed to sign contracts. Teams began to speak to players on Sunday.
Because Allen was a restricted free-agent, he could have sign an offer sheet with any NBA team, and the Sixers would have had the right to match that offer.
It was a surprisingly productive rookie season for Allen, who although averaged just 4.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in the regular season, became a crucial frontcourt player during the Sixers Eastern Conference Semi-Final series against Boston.
That leaves Lou Williams and Spencer Hawes as the two most notable remaining Sixers free-agents.
