Report: Ed Marynowitz Emerges As Candidate For Eagles Personnel Executive
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- When the Eagles announced on Friday that Chip Kelly would now be the lead man for the player personnel department, the team stipulated that Kelly would have the power to hire a player personnel executive that would answer directly to him.
According to Pro Football Talk, the search could begin from within.
Ed Marynowitz, the Eagles' assistant director of player personnel, has reportedly emerged as a candidate for what will essentially be the general manager position for the Eagles.
Marynowitz came to the Eagles in 2012 and spent a season as the assistant director of pro scouting. Prior to coming to Philadelphia, he worked for four years as director of player personnel for the University of Alabama which afforded him a great deal of responsibility in the school's recruiting efforts.
Before Alabama, Marynowitz was a scouting assistant for the Dolphins where he worked with Jeff Ireland and Bill Parcells.
Marynowitz, a native of Media, Pa, played college football at La Salle University (the school discontinued football after the 2007 season) as the team's starting quarterback and earned all-american honorable mention honors in 2003. He holds a number of La Salle's passing records and wrapped up his playing career as a back up quarterback at Central Florida.
