Report: East Coast Residents Hate Their Jobs The Most
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Hate your job? Time to move to the West Coast.
A new report from Monster.com and Brandwatch claims the vast majority of the states where people hate their jobs are on the East Coast – at least, according to Twitter.
In the research, Monster and Brandwatch analyzed more than 1 million tweets across the country between March 2014 and March 2015 to figure out where workers are the happiest – and most miserable -- on the job.
Eight of the ten states where people posted the most positive things in relation to their job were on the West Coast. Hawaii had the highest ratio of people who loved their jobs v. hated, and California, Oregon and Washington also made the top ten for satisfied workers.
On the other hand, the states with the most miserable workers were mostly on the East Coast, including Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey.
Another takeaway from the research? July is the month when complaining about your job online is at its peak, possibly because many people are going on vacation and the year is half over.
