Report: Eagles Express Interest In WR Vincent Jackson
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the Eagles are among a number of NFL teams interested in trading for Buccaneers receiver Vincent Jackson.
Jackson, 31, is a 6'5 wide receiver that seemingly fits the big receiver mold the Chip Kelly prefers for his offense. Rapoport also pointed to the Patriots and Seahawks as teams with interest in Jackson.
Despite being in his tenth season in the NFL, Jackson is still producing at fairly high level. Jackson has 25 catches in six games this season for 344 yards and two touchdowns.
With the Buccaneers sitting at 1-5 on the season, it makes sense for them to test the market with some of their better players and see what opportunities are out there for them to acquire some future assets.
The presumed role for Jackson on the Eagles would almost certainly be opposite Jeremy Maclin on the outside. That position is currently being filled by Riley Cooper, but on the surface, Jackson has been the more productive receiver.
Cooper currently has 24 catches for 217 yards and one touchdown.
