Chip Kelly Was Married For Seven Years
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Chip Kelly is a private guy. We don't know much about his personal life, causing endless rumors to swirl, including the one that implied he was never married (just "married to football").
However, according to a story written by Kent Babb of the Washington Post, Kelly was in fact married to Jennifer Jenkins for seven years. Babb spoke to Jenkins in his must-read piece.
Kelly and Jenkins, who attended Kelly's first NFL game in Washington D.C., are now divorced.
"It wasn't his fault because he was focused on football," Jenkins told the Washington Post of the divorce. "That's just not the way we've ever — that's not it. That's not what happened.
"We were just young."
Kelly and Jenkins remains friend today and occasionally text, as Babb describes.
"I want him to win. I want him to be successful," Jenkins said in the article. "It's everything that he has worked for."
