Report: Andrew Bynum To Have Another Knee Injection

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Sixers Andrew Bynum will have a "planned injection as part of his ongoing treatment on knee to get him on court ASAP," according to a report from Bob Cooney of the Philadelphia Daily News. Cooney also tweeted that this is "not a set back."
Cooney continued to say that coach Doug Collins, "said he's feeling better. He's due for another injection and then eventually up to running on treadmill."
Bynum has not practiced with the team, nor played in a preseason game yet this year. The team announced October 1st that Bynum would be withheld from "basketball activities for the next three weeks in order to maximize the therapeutic effects of the Orthokine therapy he received earlier this month. The released continued to say that "Bynum was examined by Dr. Jack McPhilemy of Main Line Health and was diagnosed with a bone bruise of the medial femoral chondyle of his right knee. During the aforementioned time frame, Bynum will continue participate in low impact conditioning drills."
It is not known how much a part the bone bruise played in Bynum being held out.
94WIP's Howard Eskin reported last week that a source indicated that Bynum's injury was more serious than the Sixers originally thought, and perhaps the team had received "damaged goods" in Bynum.
Bynum told CSN Philly's Dei Lynam last week that he was "feeling good," and "getting better."
