Report: 49ers A 'Dark Horse' Candidate To Land Michael Vick
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Michael Vick said his goal is to go to a team where he can be the starting quarterback in 2014. If that opportunity fails to materialize, he could end up out west.
MMQB's Peter King says that Vick could end up backing up Colin Kaepernick if the situation presents itself.
"I'll give you a dark horse here: San Francisco. Let's say Vick gets only lukewarm interest to start, or to compete for a starting job," King writes. "If so, and if the Niners want more than a third-string insurance policy for Colin Kaepernick, Vick might be willing to go to try to win a Super Bowl ring. He turns 34 in June."
Vikings running back Adrian Peterson tweeted last week that the addition of Vick would make the Vikings a playoff team.
Vick has also been linked to the Jets and Raiders.
