Report: Andrew Bynum To Visit With Cavaliers
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It appears clear that Andrew Bynum will sign with an NBA team for the 2013-14 season, but the place he'll play isn't quite as clear.
With the Dallas Mavericks already thought of as interested in Bynum, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks have joined the fray. Bynum is in Cleveland on Monday for a face-to-face meeting with the Cavs, ESPN reports, and has scheduled a meeting with the Atlanta Hawks.
The Sixers traded for Bynum prior to the 2012-13 season, but Bynum did not play a game due to injuries in both knees. Bynum's agent, David Lee, was quoted as saying Bynum would definitely be ready to play in the upcoming season.
While the Mavericks would likely have to complete a sign-and-trade deal with the Sixers to fit Bynum under the salary cap, the Cavs have $15 million to spend, and the Hawks nearly twice as much.
