Rendell's New Book Calls Out Political 'Wusses'
By Mike DeNardo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Too many politicians act to preserve their political careers, instead of to serve the public. That's the message of a new book by former mayor and former governor Ed Rendell.
In his book, A Nation of Wusses, Ed Rendell says today's politicians are too concerned with job security to stand for true change.
"Republicans, almost every one of them, realizes in their heart that we've got to raise revenue," Rendell explains.
And Rendell says "wussification" is nonpartisan.
"Democrats too often are afraid to talk common sense to seniors."
Rendell's first--and he says only--memoir chronicles his political career and times where he admits to wussing out. As for any future public office…
"The only executive job I haven't held is president. And no offense to Iowa or New Hampshire, but I don't want to spend three years in the Granite State or the Hawkeye State."
But Rendell says he would be Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign manager, because she is a non-wuss.
