Relief Fund Formed For New Jersey Residents Impacted By Sandy
TRENTON, N. J. (CBS) – New Jersey governor Christie and first lady Christie announced Saturday that the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund has been formed.
Governor Christie says the fund was formed to help residents in New Jersey who were impacted by Superstorm Sandy and it will help New Jerseyans return as close to normalcy as soon as possible through donation collections and other assistance to families.
The first lady and governor announced a $2.5 million donation by Hess Corporation, the first major gift donation to the fund.
First lady Mary Pat Christie will serve as the fund's chair.
