Relatives Recount Day Woman Died After Abortion at West Philadelphia Clinic

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The jury in the murder trial of abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell today heard from the daughter of a woman allegedly killed by the doctor.
Gosnell is charged with third-degree murder in the death of Karnamaya Mongar, and seven counts of first-degree murder for allegedly killing late-term fetuses born alive (see all related stories).
Yashodo Gurung, 24, testifying through an interpreter, today told the jury that her mother, Karnamaya Mongar, had gone to three clinics in Virginia and Washington, DC, but with the pregnancy in its second term -- about 19 weeks -- she was referred to the Philadelphia clinic of Dr. Gosnell.
Gurung, her voice and head dropping, testified that she was in the waiting room when there was a commotion. The family was moved upstairs, and then went to the hospital, where her mother died.
Another family member testified that Gosnell told him after the death that Mongar's heart had stopped and that he -- the doctor -- had done nothing wrong.
The prosecution alleges that Mongar died from a medication overdose (see related story).
