Reid Finds No Fault With Eagles Effort In Loss To Seahawks
By Tom Maloney
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- After a long flight back from Seattle, Eagles head coach Andy Reid had to review yet another Eagle loss as he met with the media on Friday, a day after his team lost to the Seahawks, 31-14.
Reid addressed a number of issues, among them, his struggling defense.
"I think we're young up the middle of the defense, is what I think we are. So they are learning on the run," said Reid. We're not really a very old football team, period. But we are young up the middle of the defense."
Reid also said the defeat was not the result of a lack of effort.
"I didn't see the effort issue," he noted. They're trying hard. It's just we're not making the plays we need to make, or putting them in position they need to be put in."
The coach also said that he was disappointed in the way DeSean Jackson was portrayed on camera by the NFL Network, saying that Jackson was "all in" Thursday night, and had a great attitude for the game.
On the injury front, special teams ace Colt Anderson will be out for the rest of the season after suffering a torn ACL early in the loss. Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha has a concussion, and Reid said they will see how he does, day-to-day.
As for quarterback Michael Vick (ribs) and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (hamstring and shoulder), Reid said both are getting better.
Eagles are now off until they visit Miami on Sunday afternoon, December 11.
