Red Hot Drexel On The Road At Northeastern
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Drexel is in Boston tonight to visit Northeastern as the Dragons look to extend their nine-game winning streak.
One of the wins during this streak came against the Huskies, Drexel picking up a 71-53 decision a couple of weeks ago at the DAC. "I know it's going to probably be a totally different game than it was there, because they are a pretty good home team," head coach Bruiser Flint told KYW Newsradio from Boston. "So we've got to be ready."
That loss to Drexel is one of just two that the Huskies have suffered in their last eight games. Overall, they sit at 11-10 on the season and Flint talks about what they bring to the table."They are always a pretty good defensive team, they really rebound the ball. What they've done is, they've done a better job of taking care of the ball and not turning it over to the other team."
If Northeastern is a pretty good defensive team, than Drexel is a phenomenal one. The Dragons haven't allowed a team to score 60 or more points since Fairfield "exploded" for 69 back on December 28th. Overall, Drexel is fifth in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 54.4 points a game.
Drexel is 17-5 on the season, they are 9-2 in the CAA.
Drexel and Northeastern tip-off at 7:00 pm tonight at Matthews Arena in Boston.
