Red Cross Urges Families To Learn CPR In Preparation For Summer
By Justin Udo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Kids will soon be swarming the local pools and beaches as school lets out for the summer.
The Red Cross wants families to be properly prepared when it comes to pool safety, and that means making sure you are using the right kind of CPR.
When it comes to CPR it is not a one size fits all approach.
Judge Renee Cardwell Hughes is the CEO of the Red Cross for Southeastern Pennsylvania and she says there are three kinds of CPR that you should know.
"[There is] adult CPR, [which] you can take with a defibulator course or without. [And there is] a CPR geared toward a child 1-12 years of age and infant CPR," she explains.
Judge Cardwell Hughes says kids who are old enough to babysit are old enough to learn and perform CPR.
