Red Cross Awards $2M Housing Grant To Help Repair Homes Damaged By Sandy
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — The American Red Cross has awarded a $2 million grant to Habitat for Humanity International to repair dozens of New Jersey homes damaged by Superstorm Sandy.
Red Cross officials say Habitat for Humanity International has developed a broad regional strategy in response to the devastation caused by the storm. Its working with five Habitat affiliates throughout the state to support and enable recovery and long-term sustainability of low- income affected families.
Details on the grant were announced Wednesday.
The grant money will be used to help repair at least 90 homes across Atlantic, Bergen, Monmouth and Ocean counties.
