Ray Rice Not Hired As Coach At NJ High School, Officials Say
PHILADELPHIA (CBS)--Despite reports that former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has taken a coaching job at a school in New Jersey, officials tell CBS Philly that's not the case.
On Monday, sources told ESPN's Dianna Russini that Rice will be a running back coach at Don Bosco Prep High School in Bergen County, New Jersey.
But Don Bosco Prep Coach Mike Teel tells CBS Philly that Rice "has not" taken the job.
"He came and spoke to my team today about right choices," Teel said. "He's one of my best friends from college so that was about it."
Rice was released by the Ravens and suspended by the NFL in September 2014 after the video surfaced of him hitting his then then-fiancee at a casino in Atlantic City.

His suspension was later overturned by an arbitrator allowing him to one day return to the NFL.
Two weeks ago, Rice told ESPN that he's not giving up on playing football again.
"The reason why I'm not playing football, you do the dots," Rice said before Torrey Smith's charity basketball game in Baltimore. "It ain't because I'm a bad football player. That's just keeping it real. I'm never giving up and never giving in."
The 30-year-old Rice played six seasons for Baltimore. He ran for 6,180 yards and 37 touchdowns.
