Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel Hand-Delivers Letter About Immigration Policy To Trump
NEW YORK (CBS/AP) -- President-elect Donald Trump welcomed a surprising guest to Trump Tower in New York City on Wednesday.
Trump met with Democratic heavyweight, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
Emanuel hand-delivered a letter from 14 other mayors in the United States. It calls for Trump to keep President Barack Obama's policy that prevents undocumented immigrants from being deported if they were brought here as children.

"We are clear as mayors that these are DREAMers who are seeking the American dream, and we should embrace them, rather than do a bait-and-switch," Emanuel said.
Emanuel is the latest in a series of unexpected visitors at Trump Tower. On Tuesday, Trump met with former Vice President Al Gore and confirmed during an interview that former rival Mitt Romney is still in the running for secretary of state.
"I've spoken to him a lot. We've come a long way together," Trump told NBC's "Today." "We had some tremendous difficulty together and now I think we've come a long way."
Trump said he expects to name a secretary of state next week.

CBS News has learned retired Marine Corps. Gen. John Kelly will be the Homeland Security Department nominee as Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad will be named the next ambassador to China.
Branstad has a decades' long friendship with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
A source also told The Associated Press that Trump to expected to nominate Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to lead the Environmental Protection Agency.
Pruitt, a 48-year-old Republican, has been a reliable booster of the fossil fuel industry and an outspoken critic of what he derides as the EPA's "activist agenda."
