Raffi Torres Calls His Hit On Hossa A 'Hockey Play'
By Adam Hoge-
UNITED CENTER (CBS) This probably won't surprise anyone, but Phoenix Coyotes forward Raffi Torres doesn't think there was anything wrong with his hit on Marian Hossa that resulted in the Blackhawks forward getting carried off the ice on a stretcher.
"First off, I hope he's alright. As far as the hit goes, I thought it was a hockey play. Just trying to finish my hit out there," Torres said. "What can I say, I hope he's alright."
That was Torres' only comment after the Coyotes' 3-2 win over the Blackhawks in overtime Tuesday night. He only took one question.

Meanwhile, Coyotes head coach Dave Tippett said he did not have a chance to see the replay of the hit yet, but added: "Looked to me like he was finishing his check."
The hit came mid-way through the first period when Torres took a run at Hossa and hit the Blackhawks foward's head with his left shoulder after leaving his feet. The referees on the ice did not call a penalty.
"I saw exactly what happened," Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville said. "It was right in front of me. How four guys missed it, it was hard. The refereeing tonight was a disgrace."
Quenneville's comments will likely be reviewed by league as will Torres' hit.
When asked if he thought Torres would get a suspension, Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews said: "Who knows. I don't know what to expect anymore. I don't think anyone does. So we'll see."
