Radnor Police Seek Brazen Thugs Who Robbed Jewelry Store
By Jim Melwert
RADNOR, Pa. (CBS) - This is a very bold robbery on the Main Line. Not only is the Bernie Robbins store in the landmark Radnor Hotel on Lancaster Avenue, it's also just half a mile from the Radnor police station.
Police say it was about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when six men entered the store with guns and a hammer. Authorities say the thugs smashed several jewelry cases, grabbed as much as they could and took off.
Everything appears normal, inside the store Thursday morning, except for white sheets that cover the display cases that were smashed.
Right now, it's unclear how much these thieves got away with. Police say it's fortunate nobody was injured because there were customers and employees in the store, and this area is very busy at that time of the evening.
Investigators say they do have surveillance video from the store.
Bernie Robbins Jewelers is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the men responsible for this robbery.
