Quinnipiac Poll Finds Lowest Approval Ratings Yet For Obama
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A new survey is out today that underscores the challenges facing President Obama.
By 52 percent to 42 percent, voters in the Quinnipiac University poll disapprove of President Obama's job performance, it's his highest negative rating yet. But still, these same voters, 53 percent of them still blame President Bush for the economy.
Another figure is more troubling for the president. The amount of those surveyed who think he has strong leadership qualities has dropped from 64 to 50 percent in January. By a small percentage, voters favor Mitt Romney to handle the economy.
Both parties get similar negative ratings along with House and Senate leaders of both parties, and the President gets higher marks than Republican leaders. Only 12 percent of Americans identify as members of the Tea Party.
