Fast Moving Storm Topples Trees, Knocks Out Power Across Delaware Valley
MERION, Pa. (CBS) -- The quick-moving storms that plowed through the area split and knocked trees to the ground, bringing down wires which led to scattered power outages across the area.
The storms may be to blame for a raging fire in Browns Mills, Burlington County. That's where investigators say flames at a storage facility on Juliustown Road may have been sparked by lightning. The fire reached 2-alarms. No one was injured.
Many communities across our area have plenty to clean up following yet another round of severe weather. One of the hardest hit areas was Merion Station, Montgomery County.

Police were called to the intersection of Orchard Way and Sycamore Avenue where a Tulip Poplar Tree, estimated to be at least seventy-years-old and more than a 100 feet tall, was completely uprooted.
Over in Bala Cynwyd, Bruce and Alex Marks were in awe, coming home to a fallen tree, resting on top of power lines and blocking Righters Ferry Road just outside their home.
Bruce Marks said, "Nobody was in the wrong place at the right time. It was a big tree. It goes to show how careful you have to be around trees."
On nearby Colwyn Lane, Derrick McIver believes the wind gust alone packed enough punch to take out a giant tree out in front of his home and another tree out in the backyard.
Marcie Baker explained, "It's crazy. it was raining out but it wasn't that bad, I didn't think it could take trees out, especially not two."
But the storm was strong enough, leaving behind quite a bit of damage. It looks terrible yet most say they are relieved.
Derrick McIver said, "Luckily every branch that has fallen, hasn't fallen on people, animals or property, so that's a good thing."
Police confirm there were no reports of any serious injuries.
