Quarterback Questions Continue As Eagles Head Back To Practice

By Ed Benkin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) ---  A first place showdown with the Dallas Cowboys is looming, but the Eagles continue to field questions about their quarterback situation.

Michael Vick was limited in practice on Tuesday as Nick Foles took snaps with the first team offense.  Vick is hoping to increase his workload during the week, but says the injury isn't going away.

"I feel like I'm getting better," said Vick.  "I think another week of rehab can put me in a position where I can gain some confidence and do some things that I normally do."

While Vick is hoping his hamstring injury improves, Foles is getting ready to play if Vick is still sidelined.  Foles says he isn't changing his approach to practice even though he is getting more work with the top unit.

"I'm preparing this week like I always do," Foles said.  "I work every day like I'm the starter.  that's the mentality and nothing changes."

Offensive Coordinator Pat Shurmur is taking a similar approach to the quarterback situation as he did last week. Shurmur says Vick's health status will determine how the team prepares for Sunday's game against Dallas.

"Coach (Chip) Kelly will address those issues about who the quarterback is when both of them are healthy," said Shurmur.  "At this point, we will go with Nick then when Mike's healthy, we'll have that discussion."

While the quarterback watch continues, the Eagles will be playing for first place on Sunday.  Both the Eagles and Cowboys are 3-3 and tied atop the NFC East, and DeSean Jackson understands the importance of Sunday's game.

"It's a huge game," Jackson said.  "It's a division rival and a division opponent.  We're looking forward to it."

Both the Eagles and Cowboys are 2-0 in division play.
