Protests Planned To Mark Two Month Anniversary Of Occupy Movement
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Members of the "Occupy" movements across the country are planning a day of protests to mark two months since Occupy Wall Street first started. In Philadelphia, time may be running out for demonstrators at their current location.
Today is the two-month mark for Occupy Wall Street, and even though the protest that started it was cleared out Tuesday, large protests are planned for today, with the group promising hundreds of people to rally near the New York Stock Exchange. Protesters are then planning to fan out with the intent of disrupting the city, subway stations in the afternoon, then city hall in the evening.
Similar protests are planned around the country.
The Occupy Philadelphia movement is split over the question of whether to move or make a defiant stand in the face of a construction project planned for Dilworth Plaza, where they're camped out.
