Protesters Take To The Streets Despite The Heat

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Thousands of demonstrators braved the blazing heat and humidity Monday afternoon for a march down Broad Street to FDR Park.
The atmosphere was festive as the massive crowd chanted slogans and carried signs on their way to FDR Park. They came from all over the world - individuals and members of various groups - all united under the Bernie Sanders banner.
"I've been voting Green Party since 2000. But this year I decided to change to Democrat. We need progressive change in this country," said one member of the march.
Many were fired up in the wake of the Wikileaks email dump that's rocked the DNC establishment.
"I'm angry that the DNC stole the election from Bernie Sanders," a protester said.
"I think the delegates pay attention to the news. And she's not even president yet and it's already scandal after scandal. Is this what we really need? If the party wants unity, Hillary clearly isn't the answer," said another.
It was a raucous but peaceful protest, monitored by cops on bikes and, at one point, Commissioner Richard Ross.
"We are allowing them to express their first amendment right and will continue do so as long as they are peaceful," said Ross.
