Prosecutors: Camden Man Charged In Fatal Stabbing
CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Felony murder charges have been filed against a Camden man accused of attacking and repeatedly stabbing another city resident earlier this month.
Bail has been set at $800,000 for 29-year-old Alexander Santiago. It wasn't known Saturday if he has retained an attorney.
Camden County prosecutors say Santiago was arrested earlier this month and charged in the Jan. 13 stabbing death of 46-year-old William Ahing. They say Santiago was attempting to rob Ahing in the 500 block of State Street when the attack occurred.
The slaying was the first murder in Camden this year. There were 67 killings there in 2012, making it the deadliest year in Camden's history.
