Prosecutor Reviews Evidence In Motel Fire That Killed 4 In Ocean County
POINT PLEASANT BEACH, N.J. (AP) — The Ocean County prosecutor plans to meet with arson investigators who have been digging through the remains of a motel in Point Pleasant Beach where a fire killed four people.
Prosecutor Joseph Coronato will meet Thursday with the investigators who have been trying to determine what started Friday's blaze at the Mariner's Cove Motor Inn.
The motel's guests included some people who were previously displaced by Superstorm Sandy in Oct. 2012.
Eight other people were injured in the fire, three of them critically. (See Related Story)
The probe included dogs specially trained to sniff out gasoline or other petroleum products that could have been used to start or spread a fire.
