Print Editions Of 'The Onion' No Longer Available In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia is a little less funny these days. Print editions of the satirical newspaper "The Onion" are no longer available here.
Bereft commuters noticed the honor boxes disappear about a week ago with no announcement or explanation.
Gone are the ironically absurd headlines that made the ride to work laugh-out-loud funny:
"Tony Award Fever Sweeps The Nation"
"Loft Apartments Converted Back To Mayonnaise Factory"
"Study Finds Every Style Of Parenting Produces Disturbed, Miserable Adults"
The final headline was a mock story that actually upset some parents who didn't get the joke.
Mark Block of Philadelphia Media Network, The Onion's local partner, says the print edition didn't make enough money.
"We put together a business model and it wasn't working to our expectations. But we do believe The Onion has great potential to find a partner where that success can be achieved," Block said.
