Price Leading The Way For Explorers
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The La Salle University Explorers are 4-1 on the young season as they prepare to host Hofstra on Wednesday night at Gola Arena.
The Explorers are being led by redshirt junior guard Jordan Price who has been locked in so far this season.
The 6'5" Price led La Salle in scoring last season, pouring in just over 17 points a game while earning first team All-Big 5 status. But he has taken his game to another level so far this season. Through five games, Price is averaging 25 points a game, which is good for third in the entire nation right now. Even more impressive than the scoring totals may be the way Price is putting up these numbers. He's playing incredibly efficient basketball on offense, shooting 52 percent from the field and 53 percent from three. In a win last week over Lafayette, Price scored a season high 33 points and did so on just 14 field goal attempts (he made 11, including 6 of 8 from 3). He talks about not forcing things on offense.
"My dad always tells me, just to let the game come to me," Price tells KYW Newsradio. "Coaches always tell me to let the game come to me and the ball has energy and if you just move around it'll find you."

While Price is performing at a high level and garnering a lot of attention, he says there is even more he can do.
"I know I still need to work on my defense and rebounding and just helping my team win," Price says.
Price transferred to La Salle after spending a season at Auburn. He talks about why he decided to become an Explorer.
"It was just a great experience when I came up here to visit," Price says. "Got to get to know the coaches and my teammates. Just from the jump it felt like they were my brothers and they were father figures. So it was just a great look for me I thought. And it is."
La Salle and Hofstra will tip-off Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
