President Obama's Female Supporters Gather For 'Women Vote 2012 Summit'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Hundreds of women and some men attended the Women Vote 2012 Summit at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Monday night.
Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, chair of the Democratic National Committee, says the summit is designed to get Pennsylvania's female voters to re-elect the president because there's a lot at stake.
"President Obama has fought hard for the issues that women care about. The first bill he signed into law was the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. And Mitt Romney, by contrast, won't even say whether he would have signed it if it came to his desk as president, or whether he would sign a repeal."
The act addressed discriminatory wage decisions which were not covered by the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Wasserman-Schultz also says the president's support of the Affordable Care Act protects women from being denied coverage by insurance companies, just for being female. She says the president has been a strong advocate for women and that's the message she wants to send at this summit.
