'Preppie Drug Ring' Lieutenant Pleads Guilty To Main Line Dealing

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- A Lower Merion, Pa. man who Montgomery County prosecutors say was one of the ringleaders of a so-called "preppie drug ring" has admitted his role in the scheme.
Timothy Brooks, a 2013 graduate of the Haverford School, today pleaded guilty to five counts including possession with intent to distribute, criminal conspiracy, and participating in a "corrupt organization."
Prosecutors say the 19-year-old Villanova man and a colleague, Neil Scott (a 2008 Haverford School graduate), recruited sub-dealers to peddle of marijuana and other drugs at several high schools and on college campuses along the Main Line.
Defense attorney Greg Pagano says his client, Brooks, is taking responsibility for his actions.
"He truly regrets the poor decisions that he's made, for the pain that he's caused his family and this community," Pagano tells KYW Newsradio.
Pagano told the judge that his client is undergoing drug and alcohol treatment. Brooks remains free on bail while awaiting sentencing. Prosecutor Jason Whalley says they will be seeking jail time for Brooks.
Most of the defendants in this case have already pleaded guilty. Scott is still awaiting his day in court.
