Preparations Underway For March Madness Games At Wells Fargo Center
By Jim Melwert
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - March Madness is here, and Philadelphia is hosting some games this weekend. Preparations are already underway at the Wells Fargo Center.
This morning, the court floor was being assembled. It was designed specifically for these games.
Ike Richman, spokesman for Comcast Spectacor, describes what the fans will see:
"It's a standard court, it says 'Philadelphia' on one end of the court, it says 'Wells Fargo Center' on the other. (There are) a couple of NCAA logos and then Temple University is the host institution and they'll have a logo on the court as well."
Although Temple University is the host of the games here, they'll be playing in Dayton on Friday afternoon.
Here in Philadelphia, we'll be hosting Duke -- a No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region, as they take on No. 15 seed Albany early Friday afternoon. No. 7 seed Creighton plays No. 10 seed Cincinnati. South Region No. 2 seed Georgetown plays No. 15 seed Florida Gulf Coast, and No. 7 seed San Diego State will play No. 10 seed Oklahoma.
The winners of those games will play on Sunday.
