MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (CBS) – While the winning ticket for the nearly $600 million Powerball jackpot was sold in Florida, a lottery player who bought a ticket in Montgomery County is a $1 million richer.
A ticket worth $1 million was sold at the 7-Eleven in the 700 block of Horsham Road in North Wales.
The winning ticket correctly matched all five white balls, 10-13-14-22-52, but not the red Powerball 11, to win individual prizes of $1 million, less 25 percent federal withholding.
The 7-Eleven store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket.
Lottery officials cannot confirm the identity of the winner until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.
The Lottery encourages the holder of the ticket to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of Lottery's seven area offices.
The record Powerball jackpot was won with one ticket sold in Florida worth $590.5 million annuity, or $370.9 million cash. The jackpot reset to $40 million for the Wednesday, May 22, drawing.
