Power Problems Impact PECO Customers, SEPTA Regional Rail In Doylestown

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Power problems in Doylestown, Bucks County were affecting hundreds of PECO customers and also commuters who ride SEPTA's regional rail Monday morning.

The utility company said about 2,000 homes and businesses, mostly in the downtown area, lost power shortly before 5:30 a.m.  As of 8:30 a.m., PECO was reporting about 300 customers still in the dark.

Power problems also forced the suspension of service for several hours on SEPTA's regional rail between Lansdale and Doylestown after a downed tree took out overhead wires.

Service was restored between Link Belt and Center City, but as of 9 a.m., the line remained suspended between Doylestown and Link Belt.

There was no timetable for all power to be restored or for the Lansdale/Doylestown line to get back to full service.
