Porter: Packers Beat Colts In Super Bowl 50

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Bookmark this page.

The Green Bay Packers will defeat the Indianapolis Colts on February 7th, 2016 in Super Bowl 50. Yes, I just predicted the Super Bowl a year and two days in advance. It's February, bare with me.

Listen to Andrew Porter and Scott Kret discuss the 2016 Super Odds (around 14:00 minute mark) on the Pulse Of Philly:

Of the top five teams with the best chances to win Super Bowl 50---Seattle (6/1), New England (7/1), Green Bay (8/1), Denver (12/1), and Indianapolis (12/1)---the only team in cap trouble is the Patriots. With an aging Tom Brady and plenty of roster decisions to make, especially in the secondary, I'm going to count them out. Ebb and flow says they can't win again.

The Broncos can't be trusted because we don't know about the health of Peyton Manning. They're out.

The Seahawks, while they do have just under $24 million in cap space, can't play in their third straight Super Bowl. Again, ebb and flow says no way. They're out.

That leaves the Packers and Colts.

The Colts have $33.78 million in cap space to add pieces around the game's best young quarterback in Andrew Luck, who is coming off his first AFC Championship game appearance.

The Packers have about $24 million in cap space to go along with the NFL's reigning MVP in Aaron Rodgers. No one is playing better football than Rodgers, 31, who knows his clock is ticking. Rodgers is due to win another Super Bowl and he'll do it next year.

As for our Eagles, we'll at somewhere around 20/1, it's a solid value play. I am highly confident in the Birds this year and I am certain Chip Kelly gets over the hump and wins his first NFL playoff game.

I'll say the Eagles lose at the Packers in the NFC Championship game.

What's that? You want a score?

Um, 31-24 Packers.
