Popular Tourist Bus Loop Back In A Phlash
By Cherri Gregg
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Phlash Downtown Loop returns for the 2012 season, beginning on Friday, with a couple of new destinations.
Phlash links historic Philadelphia with Center City and Fairmount Park. The route begins at Penn's Landing, goes up Market Street and around City Hall, making lots of popular stops, says James Cuorato, President & CEO of the Independence Visitor's Center.
"We'll make stops at a new visitors' center that we will be opening in Sister Cities' Park, a stop at the Rodin, at the new Barnes Museum and then we're adding a new stop at the Eastern State Penitentiary."
Cuorato says there's also a stop at the Art Museum, where folks can take a shuttle bus to the Philadelphia Zoo and the Please Touch Museum. He says Phlash is easy to spot -- it's a purple trolley, which makes it and the cost popular among families.
"For a family of four, for $15 you can ride all day."
Phlash runs on weekends in May and then seven days a week beginning in June. For more info, go to PhillyPhlash.com.
