Popular Collingdale Shopkeeper Killed In Robbery
COLLINGDALE, Pa. (CBS) - A quite and peaceful community in Delaware County was shaken late yesterday when a well-liked shopkeeper was shot and killed inside his convenience store.
Police and neighbors say the 34-year-old man was popular with regular customers. He always sported a smile, and would help anyone in the neighborhood. They say if someone was shy a buck or two for a food item, he would often say "don't worry about it."
Two gunman ended that yesterday.
Police say the suspects walked into the Best convenience store along the 500 block of MacDade Boulevard and in what appears to have been a robbery attempt, they shot the shopkeeper in the chest and then fled. Witnesses saw the two men fleeing.
Police say the victim was found behind the counter and pronounced dead at the scene around 4:30 p.m. No arrests have been made.
