Pope Umbrellas Pop Up In Unique Effort To Cash In On Papal Visit

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's raining pope paraphernalia. With the Pope's visit coming up quickly, everyone's trying to cash in and that includes people with an eye for rainy days.

We've seen cardboard pope cut outs, toaster designs, window dressings, and pretty much everything else you can imagine that can carry the Pope's name. So it only makes sense that someone would put some pope umbrellas on the market. Aaron had a few for sale at his umbrella stand near Spring Garden and Broad Streets, but says that sales are coming up dry.

"If it ain't raining, they don't sell," Aaron said. "I think I've been here all day and I've sold two."

Perhaps Aaron should pray for rain.

The black umbrellas have the words Pope in Philadelphia with the dates of his visit underneath.

With the papal visit a little over a month away, it's still unclear if the weather will call for one of those umbrellas.
